Stunningly beautiful Mt. Shuksan, in northern Washington State, rises to an elevation of 9,127 feet (2,782 meters) above sea level.  First climbed by famed northwest photographer Asahel Curtis and Montelius Price via Sulphide Glacier on September 7, 1906, the mountain is photographed here from the aptly named Picture Lake.  This photograph is a composite of 40 separate 6.3 megapixel images taken on a Canon 10D with a 100mm f2.8 macro lens, stitched in Photoshop CS.  Total image size is 85 megapixels (native resolution)!

This image is extremely high resolution and prints very well at 24" x 36" ("tack sharp" resolution), and even prints well at 48" x 72"
