WELCOME TO TOUCHING LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY!

Studio Portraiture and on-location individual and group, Sports, Commercial, Landscape, Nature and Macro Photography, .

Touching Light Photography is based in the beautiful Northwest region of the United States, in Woodinville, Washington.  At the foot of the Cascade Range of mountains, and near to the Olympics, Woodinville is close to some of the most beautiful landscape in the Pacific Northwest, offering ample opportunities for outdoor photography!  Woodinville is just north and east of Seattle, in the greater Puget Sound area.  Seattle itself is truly the Emerald City, and cityscape photographic opportunities abound within the city and suburbs of Seattle.  Richard Mitchell also specializes in nature photography, often capturing nature photography images at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.

Richard Mitchell (bio) has had a lifelong passion for camping and for experiencing and photographing nature.   He has been fortunate to have learned from such great landscape photographers as John Shaw, Robert Glenn Ketchum, Joe Englander, and attended lectures by Art Wolfe (a wonderful, well-known Northwest landscape photographer!). If you like mountain photography, be sure to visit G Dan Mitchell | Photography (yes, he's my brother, and an excellent photographer!)

All Touching Light Photography prints are printed on genuine archival quality Epson Premium Luster Professional Paper using an Epson 7600 wide-format printer and genuine Epson pigment-based Ultrachrome inks for print longevity.

Richard generally uses a Canon digital camera (Canon EOS 10D or Canon EOS 5D) for original photography, using Canon "L" lenses or Canon specialty lenses such as the superbly sharp Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens.  Occasionally, optical elements are combined for extremely close-up macro photography.

Archival quality landscape photography, nature photography, macro photography ... Touching Light Photography.
